WW2 German Kriegsmarine 7×50 Leitz U-BOAT BINOCULARS VERY NICE
Posted on: April 12, 2019 /
The German Army and Navy used a wide variety of optical equipment, including a 6×30 (6 power magnification with 30mm objective lens), 7×50, 8×30, 10×50 and others, being the standard issued optics used by all branches of service. Though this type was the standard, specialized personnel required stinger optics, and were issues to personnel on a limited basis. This specific binocular was used by U-Boat crews, ships, and coastal artillery. Made by Leitz of a large tooled alloy and aluminum construction, these 7 x 50 power binoculars are in EXCELLENT used condition! The lens bodies retain about 95% of their original, rough textured, black finis… And the focus adjustment still functions perfectly on both eye pieces! The optics are still VERY clear! Right side is marked 7 x 50, the 3-digit code of ” beh ” (indicating being manufactured by Leitz), the serial number, “429237”, and a “+” lubricant code. The strap is the original one to these binos and still very strong. During the war, somoene has added the standard KM Rubber armor to the objecting lenses. It comes with the standard KM 7×50 case, dated 1944, with a matching manufacture code, but sadly it is missing the lid and has some damage at the back. A PERFECT addition to any collection or display!! TERMS OF SALE. Most of my items are vintage, and as such are AS-IS, so you must therefore expect a degree of wear due to age and/or usage. ABOUT ME.
