Movie model dated 1937 model L30xH12xW6, Base L37.5xW12.5xH1.75. This model came from my fathers collection. The model is in pretty nice shape considering the age. Model is mounted on a wooden base. Some pictures show a glass case that is not included. There are two dates on the bottom of the base 1937 and 1944. I attempted to get information on the 20 C-fox catalogue number but was told all the records from that time were lost in a fire. I watched several movies of that time period produced by 20th c-fox but did not see the model in them. I can send you more pictures, just send a message. The item “20th century fox antique ship model Exeter City 1937 on wood base 30 length” is in sale since Monday, August 3, 2020. This item is in the category “Antiques\Maritime\Model Ships”. Rare Antique 1892 WHITE SQUADRON U. S. CRUISER NEW YORK Puzzle Mcloughlin Scarce
For your consideration is this super rare puzzle of the U. S Cruiser New York published by McLoughlin Brothers Publishing in 1892. This 128 year old picture puzzle is so rare I cant find reference to any other examples remaining. This possibly could be the last one! The puzzle is complete and original and in superb condition with all 40 chromolithograph picture pieces made of a hard pressboard material. This beautiful and highly detailed scarce puzzle of the U. Cruiser NEW YORK measures 22 x 10.5 inches when assembled. Was launched on December 2, 1891 and was the first armored cruiser to enter Navy service. She was 186 feet long and had a fast cruising speed of 20 knots powered by four triple-expansion engines putting out a combined 16,000 horsepower. This beautiful and scarce puzzle depicts her at full speed with all her armament and glory on display. Her initial assignments were with the South Atlantic Squadron, in the West Indies, and the North Atlantic Squadron. Represented the United States during the opening of the Kiel Canal in Germany. Rejoining the North Atlantic Squadron, she served as the flagship of the squadron and led the warships against the Spanish Navy in the Battle of Santiago on July 3, 1898, during the Spanish-American War. Was assigned off Latin America, in Asiatic waters, in the eastern Pacific, in the Atlantic, and off Europe. In February 1911, she was renamed. And was subsequently renamed. World War I, Rochester. Allied convoy ships in the Atlantic. Following the war, she guided the Trans-Atlantic flight of the NC aircraft in May 1919. In July 1920, she was redesignated CA-2. During her time in the Caribbean area, she assisted numerous countries such as Haiti and Nicaragua until April 1932 when she became the flagship of the Asiatic Fleet. Serving for only a year, Rochester. Was decommissioned and laid up at Olongapo, Philippines, until scuttled in. December 1941 to avoid capture by the Japanese. The box of the puzzle displays the same image of the puzzle when complete and the box measures approximately 12.75 x 9.5 x 1.75 inches. The box shows wear commensurate with prior light soiling to the top and still displays wonderfully. The bottom box sides are paper covered wood and the box top and bottom of the box are thick cardboard. On the bottom left corner of the box top it reads copyrighted 1892 and the bottom right reads McLoughlin Bros New York. Please see all pictures as they are part of the description and feel free to ask if you have any additional questions. The item “Rare Antique 1892 WHITE SQUADRON U. S. Rare Antique U. S. Navy Foredeck Bell Dating from the Turn of the 20th Century
Dating from the Turn of the 20th Century. Recently restored & polished at great expense. Crown, 9 3/4 dia. Fore sale is this beautiful very rare pre-wwII. These are getting extremely hard to find and usually do not have all the correct hardware with them. The hardware is just as hard to find as the bells are, as most of these items have been destroyed when the ships were decommissioned. We have painstakingly spent the past year restoring this magnificent item. No chemicals were used that could damage the bell during the restore process. Lots of care and love went into this bell! The base was made by. Navy Veteran Jim Tingly. Made of Mountain Cedar which has beautiful grain and color. The base measures 19 X 10 1/4 X 2. This comes with two vintage coat hangers that have been restored. These can be mounted to the base or mounted to your wall for added decor and make a nice addition. The bell has no cracks or past repairs to it nor does any of the hardware. Today more than ever our history is being taken down and or lost to time. So this was truly an honor to restore. This would be a great gift for a past or current Navy Veterans or for local VFW’s or other organizations. Don’t fall victim for fakes! There are many out there! See the attached Navy Bell Spec Sheet attached. The item “Rare Antique U. S. Navy Foredeck Bell Dating from the Turn of the 20th Century” is in sale since Thursday, June 25, 2020. Antique 60 Warship of Spanish Armada from Antiquités Delalande, FREE SHIP DADS
This was a very special gift for the 65th birthday of my Dad. It is quite imposing and was displayed on a long commode behind his desk. He kept it in its glass case , of wood at the base and (originally) a huge glass rectangular cover. (the display case is not included due to moving damage). The maquette is representative of one of the huge warships of the famously large spanish armada of the 16th century made by the fanatical Catholic King (Philip II) of Spain to invade England in 1558 and overthrow and perhaps execute the Protestant Queen Elizabeth I. His luxurious ships were famously destroyed off the coast of England by the weaker English , who were helped by terrible winds that destroyed almost all of the great fleet. This turning point in euro-politics changed the balance of power during the reigns of both monarchs as Elizabeth , a mere woman , was now a warrior queen , and was secure on her throne until her death. Spain under Philip II and his descendants was , on the other hand , never to regain its long lasting imperial power in Europe and became weak. Since my Dad was a historian he loved this gift.
