WW2 German Kriegsmarine U-Boat Navigator MAP CARTOGRAPHER SET U-190 RARE

These tools were used to carefully (and accurately) plot the correct course both above and under water. This came to me with a small collection of KM items, that were removed from U-190 in 1945. German submarine U-190 was a Type IXC/40 U-boat of Nazi Germany’s Kriegsmarine built for service during World War II. Her keel was laid down on 7 October 1941 by DeSchiMAG AG Weser of Bremen. She was launched on 3 June 1942 and commissioned on 24 September 1942 with Kapitänleutnant Max Wintermeyer in command. She carried out a total of six war patrols during which she sank two ships. On 6 July 1944 Wintermeyer was relieved by Oberleutnant zur See Hans-Erwin Reith who commanded the boat for the rest of her career in the Kriegsmarine. After VE Day, she was surrendered to the Royal Canadian Navy, in which she served for two more years. Made of brass and steel, this map plotting cartography set is in AMAZING used condition! Manufactured by Wichmann, it is 100% COMPLETE, however one of the compasses is a wartime replacement, made by Riefler. It does feature some slight marks, and wear, but is otherwise SUPERB! Features the full KM Adler and property markings on the front. Brought back from WW2 by a Canadian veteran, it would make for a FANTASTIC display! TERMS OF SALE. Most of my items are vintage, and as such are AS-IS, so you must therefore expect a degree of wear due to age and/or usage. ABOUT ME.
