Cool 1:24 (40 length) R/C model of WWII U. Navy Elco PT-109 patrol boat with custom wood stand. Not sure who made this if was kit or if custom made, Wood hull with plastic deck and superstructures. Well constructed and detailed. Model is not finished and has some damage to metal railings on gun turrets. Some parts are included. Front railings not included. Casting for guns included. One prop missing and one rear torpedo cover also missing. Motor mounts inside but no servo or engines. Nice model can finish up and add more detail for display model or finish up and install motors. Vintage hand crafted topside deck details of WWII PT-109 Patrole Torpedo Boat that John Fitsgerold Kennedy Commander… A nice desk top ELCO type PT-109 modle that came from a WWII US Navy Vetran estate. Boat size: 15 1/2″ length X 4″ wide X Hull-high: 2 3/4. Laminate deck with most details have minor flaws by close examination. Some original parts are missing and COULD have this addition to overall upgrade if replaced by a detailed craftsman.. The signature of this PT-109 hand crafted exacution stands on its own in honor and memory of Commander John Fitsgeraold Keenedy in the South Pacific WWII Theater. The entire deck needs a careful cleaning. Fluted Wood Base size: 14″ long X 5″ wide X 1 high. Solid Brass two supports size: 5″ high X 4″ dia. This item will be mailed the next morning A. Charles H. Hubbell Original Painting-Naval-Ship-Signed-Original Frame-25.5x19.5

Hubbell was one of the foremost commerical aviation artists in the U. With more than 500 paintings to his credit, a body of work that is an illustrated compendium of aviation history. Born in Cleveland, Ohio, he entered the Naval Air Service during World War I. Stationed in Buffalo, he redesigned airplanes at the Curtiss airplane factory. He received a pilot’s license in 1927. In 1934, Hubbell was commissioned by Fred Crawford, chairman of Thompson Products, to paint past winners of the Thompson Trophy Air Race. Thus began a long career as Thompson/TRW’s free-lance artist, for whom he produced an annual illustrated calendar from 1937 to 1972. Today many of his paintings are in the permanent collection of the Western Reserve Historical Society’s Crawford Auto-Aviation Museum in Cleveland.
