19 3/4″ x 16 3/4″ Hand Drawn 1939 – USS Honolulu CL 48 – Brooklyn-class light cruiser. Drawing found in Grand Island, NY, in 2021. Likely drawn by someone onboard leaving New York or a family member. Framed, in 2002, in a period frame with acid free mat and backing board. USS Honolulu CL 48 was a Brooklyn-class light cruiser active in the Pacific During WWII. Sept 1, 1934 – Construction began at New York Naval Yard, Brooklyn, New York. Aug 26, 1937 – Launched. Jun 15, 1938 – Launched. Nov 5, 1940 Left for Pearl Harbor. Dec 7, 1941 In Pearl Harbor, moored at the naval station – survived minor hull damage from a near miss. Feb 3, 1947 – Decommissioned.

This is a magnificent, museum quality model of the Royal Louis. It was 100% hand built “plank on the frame” by the master craftsmen. This model is made of mahogany and teak. Stripes of rosewood were added to increase its exotic value. Around her hull, you can see brass cannons, brass rails and fittings, a big brass figurehead in front of the bow, beautiful art works around the stern. The details are just amazing. It takes hundreds of hours to build the hull and the riggings. The model comes with its original French flags and rests on a steady wooden base with attached metal name plate. This is an exclusive edition of the Royal Louis, where the model is uniquely identified by a laser cut hull serial number. The model is 37″ long, 36″ tall and 12 wide. Her captain was a Squadron Admiral. Able to shot 48-pound bronze cannonballs, the Royal Louis had unrivaled firepower. The Amerigo Vespucci, built in 1930 at Naval Shipyard of Castellammare di Stabia, is a museum-quality, FULLY ASSEMBLED model. This Amerigo Vespucci model has a distinctive two tone black and white paint on the hull. The front bowsprit and three large masts are connected securely using advanced rigging and lines painstakingly knotted and fastened by hand. The glorious Italian flag is attached to the mizzen yard. On the deck, there are metal cranes holding authentic hand-built lifeboats with ribs and planks, wooden cabin, wooden stairways, wooden ladders, and many other handcrafted ornaments.
